Fiona Evans

Born in Australia Fiona began her training with The Janice James Academy, then with Marilyn Jones and Garth Welch, The Graduate College of Dance, under Terri Charlesworth, and the Heinz-Bosl Academy in Munich. After a year and a half at the Academy she joined the Bavarian State Ballet and in July 2004 was promoted to second soloist. Her repertoire included Princess Florine and Fairy Canarie Qui Chante in The Sleeping Beauty, Olympia in John Neumeier´s Lady of the Camellias, the Odaliske Pas de Trois in Le Corsaire, 3rd soloist in MacMillian´s Song of the Earth, Clemence in Raymonda, as well as A Sort of... and Apartment from Mats Ek to name just a few. After appearing as a guest artist with West Australian Ballet on The Red Shoes tour, Fiona became  a permanent member of the Company and in October 2009 was promoted to Leading Artist. Since joining the company Fiona has danced roles such as Giselle, Juliet, Kitri in Don Quixote and alongside Daryl Brandwood in Petr Zuska's new Rite of Spring and Ivan Cavallari's creation of Dolly.

What inspired you to start dancing?
" I have always loved dancing. From an early age whenever I saw dance on TV I would try to imitate it or just dance around the house whenever music was playing. "
