Samuel Maxted

Samuel began his dance training at QL2 at the age of 12, and performed with the youth dance company for 6 years. At the age of 18 he commenced classical training at National Capital Ballet School, and a year later was accepted into WAAPA. Whilst training at WAAPA Samuel performed as a guest artist in numerous productions with West Australian Ballet including Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, Taming of the Shrew, Ballet at the Quarry, Diamonds, Pinocchio, Neon Lights Sydney Tour and The Nutcracker, and with The Australian Ballet in Graeme Murphy's Swan Lake. Highlights of his time at WAAPA included receiving The Linley Wilson Scholarship and first place at the Royal Academy of Dance Competition, being awarded his Solo Seal - The RAD's highest caliber examination, and dancing such lead roles as Oberon in Kim McCarthy's Midsummer Nights Dream, Waltz Boy in Balanchine's Serenade and the lead pas de deux in Natelie Wier's Jabula and Proofsheet Plates.

At the end of 2012 Samuel graduated from WAAPA with Bachelor of Arts in dance, and joined West Australian Ballet fulltime as a Young Artist in January 2013.
