We want you to have greater access to all that we do! Over 6,000 people participate in West Australian Ballet's Community Programs annually, from school children, teachers, fellow artists, volunteers and the general public. These programs provide the opportunity for anyone to learn more about and be entertained by dance. Lotterywest Community Matinee Series
The Lotterywest Community Matinee Series was initiated in 2010 for community groups with barriers of a social, cultural, physical and/or economic nature to overcome, in order to access and experience the Ballet.
In 2010, community matinees were hosted for refugees and emerging migrant communities, people who are blind or visually impaired, and the elderly community. Artistic Director Ivan Cavallari says, "My wish is to provide as many West Australians the chance to experience beauty and diversity...a significant repertoire and some of the best artists in the world... it is my hope that these community matinees will give an even greater number of people the opportunity to join an amazing ride."
School Holiday Ballet Experiences School holidays needn’t be a drag with West Australian Ballet offering a very special opportunity for children to get closer to the Company than ever before! Each Ballet Experience is tailored to one of the age groups 2-4 years, 5-8 years, 9-12 years or 13-17 years. Children can learn about costumes, meet dancers and participate in special ballet and creative activities.
This opportunity is not to be missed and will delight children of all ages. Please note that places are strictly limited so book early to avoid disappointment.
