We look forward to seeing you at the ballet! CHANCE TO DANCE Now in its third year, Chance to Dance is aimed at introducing primary school students, who would not normally have the opportunity, to the magic of dance and theatre. Up to eight schools will be selected to participate in a year-long program consisting of a Ballet Unveiled and Ballet Moves workshop onsite at the school, attendance at the Schools' Matinee performance of The Taming of the Shrew at His Majesty's Theatre, and a behind the scenes tour of His Majesty's Theatre including front and back of house. The program gives children the opportunity to engage in a meaningful and ongoing relationship with a major performing arts company. It aims to inspire children to engage with the arts and teaches them not to be intimidated by theatre. [Parent and Student Quote] "He told in great detail the story - which shows he took it all in & he enjoyed the music - so much so we bought a DVD of ‘Giselle' for home" Anonymous parent "...It was so fun. We will never forget the ballet. It's all because of you that we saw all the great stuff that we did." Tiffany, North Balga Primary School. If you are interested in participating in the 2011 Chance to Dance program, please contact West Australian Ballet's Education Officer, at leapintodance@waballet.com.au by Friday 10 December 2010.
