Monday Vernissage: The Beginnings of a Ballet

Monday Vernissage: The Beginnings of a Ballet

This month West Australian Ballet presents Novecento: the beginnings of a new story ballet on Monday 30 July. This event is the second of WAB's Monday Vernissage series hosted at the new West Australian Ballet Centre, encouraging friends and patrons to discover the fascinating world of ballet behind the scenes.

The evening will be hosted by Ivan Cavallari with composer Niko Schauble who will discuss the creation of his new score - performed by the West Australian Youth Jazz Orchestra. You will witness the very first steps of a new Cavallari choreography, with help from West Australian Ballet dancers and WAYJO.

The incredible story of Novecento was originally conceived by Alessandro Baricco, and inspired the 1998 film The Legend of 1900 starring Tim Roth.

Tickets are $20 per person (including a glass of bubbly on arrival) or $10 for students and subscribers. Monday Vernissage evenings begin at 7pm and run for approximately 1.5 hours. For bookings and information call (08) 9214 0707 or email info@waballet.com.au
