HELP US BRING A ROMANTIC MASTERPIECE TO LIFE - BECOME A LA SYLPHIDE CAMPIONE!
West Australian Ballet invites you - as one of a 100 ‘exclusive' patrons - to donate $1,000 towards the set and costumes for a sparkling new production of La Sylphide to be premiered in May 2013. The production will cost in the vicinity of $800,000 to build, and your contribution as a ‘Campione' will assist the creative team to fulfill their vision for this new ballet.
Set in Scotland, La Sylphide tells the story of a forest sylph who uses her magical gifts to attract a young Scotsman on the eve of his nuptials; ultimately leaving his fiancée at the alter to chase after the sylph. Originally choreographed by August Bournonville in 1836 - with new sets from Richard Roberts, and costumes from Lexi George - this stunning new production captures all the passion and charm of this great Romantic-era classic. By making a gift of $1,000 towards the production, you will become one of our favoured Campione and: - be thanked at a special function on stage during the La Sylphide season
in May 2013; - be acknowledged in the La Sylphide souvenir program as a Campione; and
- become an esteemed member of WAB's Ballet Circle.
